Senior Common Room humor

posted Oct 5, 2010, 6:47 PM by Florin-Stefan Morar
I went yesterday to the Senior Common room dinner at Dudley House to hear a talk by David Damrosch - a comparative lit. professor. The talk (quite good) was on literary studies in a post-literary age. It talked about research opportunities outside the domain of the book - blogs, music, the internet and such. Among other things these two anatomical pieces of academic humor:

1. What's the crossover btw. a postmodern thinker and a mafioso like? He makes you an offer you can't understand.

2. A Prof. can always tell who's an undergrad student and who's a grad: the undergrad will laugh to his jokes, the grad student will write them down.
