This is an interesting document I managed to track down.
Animated by George Sarton, James Bryant Conant, then president of Harvard, pushed for the organization of a conference on the role of the History of Science in General Education. It was held on December 20&21 in 1947 at Princeton. The list of participants can be seen as a who's who list of the ones interested and already actively teaching the history of science. Names like Thomas S. Kuhn and Ernst Nagel make their appearance on the list.It can be seen as a map of the discipline at that time.
